N,N-Dimethylacetamide DMAC is very similar to N,N-Dimethylformamide, is a representative of amide solvents. When there is no acid and alkali, it can be heated to the boiling point under normal pressure but no discompose, so that it can be distilled at atmospheric pressure. The hydrolysis rate is very slow, containing 5% water of N,N-Dimethylacetamide DMAC at 95 C heating for 140 hours, only 0.02% hydrolysis occurred. But when the acid base exists, the hydrolysis rate increases. The presence of alkali would make saponification when heating; But when heated in the presence of H+, it will occur alcoholysis reaction.

Usage & Application
